Google Ads account suspended: how to get it back
Google states the reason for the suspension right in the account. The problem is that the wording is generic while the fixes have to be specific. We go through each one.

Read the reason in the account
After logging in to Google Ads there is a red notice at the top with the policy name. Hover or click “Learn more”: that is the exact violation. The most common for businesses:
- Suspicious payments. A card from a different country than the account, several declined payments, a payment profile in someone else’s name.
- Circumventing systems. Google believes you are masking content, running several accounts for the same business, or the site shows different things to different users.
- Unacceptable business practices. A site with no contacts, no refund policy, with claims that cannot be verified. Often hits new stores and services.
- Google Ads policy violation. Healthcare, finance, alcohol, gambling, as well as brand copies and restricted products.
- Advertiser verification. Google asked for business documents and the deadline passed.
Fix things before appealing
An appeal without fixes almost always gets rejected, and every rejection makes the next one harder.
- Website. Add a contact page with an address, phone and an email on your domain. A privacy policy, refund and delivery terms if you sell. Remove “guaranteed”, “100% results”, “risk-free”.
- Payments. A payment profile in the name of the company or sole trader from the same country as the account. A card in the same person’s name. Settle any debt.
- Ads. Pause everything that could violate the named policy. Do not delete: history helps the reviewer.
- Verification. If documents were requested, prepare the registry extract, sole trader certificate or articles, and the director’s ID.
Submit the appeal
The suspension notice has an “Appeal” button or a link to a form. Choose “I fixed the violation” rather than “I disagree” if you actually changed something. In the text: business name, what you sell, a link to the site, what exactly you fixed as bullet points. Three to five sentences. One appeal, then wait.
If there is no button in the account, appeal through the Google Ads Help form “Appeal an account suspension”. Include the customer ID from the top right corner.
What not to do
- Do not create a new account, even on another email or company, until the suspension is lifted. Google links accounts through the site, payments, devices and people.
- Do not change the domain to “get around it”. That is circumventing systems.
- Do not submit several appeals a day.
If the appeal is rejected
Read the rejection: it names either the same policy or a new one. Fix what is missing and submit again after seven days describing the new changes. For accounts with spend history, contacting Google Ads support via the chat in the account helps: ask for a manual review and quote the appeal number.
After two or three rejections for the same reason the account will most likely not be reinstated. Then the only clean path is a new legal entity, a new site and payment details that do not overlap with the old ones. It has to be done honestly, not as a disguise, otherwise you get the same result in a month.
Prevention
- One business, one account, one payment profile.
- A website with contacts, legal information and policies before the first launch.
- Complete advertiser verification yourself, before Google asks.
- Once a month check the “Policy” column in the ads tab: limited ads show up there before a suspension.
